My Approach
Therapy with me is a conversation, not a protocol. There is no script, checklist, or predetermined path that we follow session by session. The direction of therapy is shaped by you: who you are, what’s been weighing on you, and what you feel ready to explore.
I believe that understanding where you are today is informed by the full context of your life — your history, your relationships, and the experiences that shaped you. Your story. We don’t have to start at the very beginning. Over time, we’ll visit the parts of your story that have been especially impactful — the ones that help explain the patterns you find yourself in, how you learned to cope, the places where something old is still showing up in your life.
Some sessions feel reflective and exploratory. Some weeks you’ll arrive knowing exactly what you need to say. Other times I can offer more guidance or direction. I also believe you are the expert on your own life. You have a say in where we go and what feels important. This is collaborative work. I’m not running the show.
I am genuinely curious and want to know you and your story. I encourage you to develop that same curiosity about yourself. Curiosity signals openness and a willingness to look at something without already knowing what you’ll find.
There’s a difference between what’s hard and what’s harmful — hard is often where the meaningful work happens. I pay close attention to that line, and I won’t push you to go faster than you’re ready or prepared for. You can trust that I’m navigating that with you, intentionally. Building your capacity to keep moving forward is part of the work itself.
The outcomes of therapy look different for every person, but some themes consistently show up. You leave with a stronger sense of who you are and what you actually want. You find it easier to name what you need and advocate for yourself. You build the resilience to navigate challenges. You find clarity about what is worth holding onto and what needs to be let go. You will likely discover things about yourself that you didn’t even know.
There is so much to hope for. You’re welcome here.
